It's been a while since the last post...we haven't been moving as quickly as we would like, but progress is progress.
We have started refinishing the cabinets we bought months ago. They'll need lots of work, more about those later.
We started work on the footers for the deck. Stu made the form and mixed and poured the concrete.
One down, three to go!
Hard to see, but a coyote came walking through...😬
After the footers were poured, it was sonic tube time! Yep, more mixing and pouring concrete. In all, Stu mixed 36 bags of concrete, he's hard to keep up with!
This is our siding color in the back, the strip on the left is our trim/soffit color and the strip on the right will be the exterior doors for the garage and the shingles on the far right.
The walls for the gym and mechanical room are up. The heat and air is ready to go, the rough electric is done and the plumbing is full of water waiting for the building inspector.
Back to the cabinets... Ugh! So dirty! They will clean up nicely though, but ugh!!
The doors and frames all cleaned up ready for paint.
Some of the cabinets before, you'll have to wait for the after shots, just like me...😆 We've started painting them, and they look great but all the pictures I've taken the color looks crazy, so we wait.
Morning shot on our way back out to the property. Hazy, hot and humid!
Time to put the telephone pole up as supports for the deck. Stu and his tractor at it again!
First pole going up.
Kenny cutting slots for the facial boards.
Smoking some ribs for the crew.
Poles and frame are up!
Decking going down.
And the last boards going on.
This is the current view from the deck, close to the building...no handrails!
Stu's a happy guy!
Public Announcement: Do not burn when it's 90+ degrees...
So, here we go with another week. And again, we have high hopes. We are hoping to get the stairs on the deck, the roof shingled and with any luck some of the siding on.
