And So It Begins!

Our excavator started working on Monday!!  Of course it rained all Monday night and yesterday, but we just had to go out and see what he did!

It was incredibly muddy, but we trudged through.
The first few pictures are the piles of logs/brush we need to burn.  That is going to be a huge fire!!

Can't wait to see it cleared off!

Norris Lake is part of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) it's a federally owned corporation created in 1933, to provide navigation, flood control and electricity generation to the Tennessee Valley.

TVA lakes are all man-made, the water levels are lowered in the fall to help with flood control in the spring.  Our channel has dropped significantly already and will eventually go dry until the spring.

Finally!

We were finally able to burn the last of our piles of trees we cut down!

Much better!  Still lots to cut, but for now it looks good!

Cheers!

A couple of days ago we stopped by the local marina/restaurant/bar for lunch on the water, so nice!

Forward Progress

We went to the property today to meet with the guys from the Health Department to try to determine the location of the septic field.  We didn't get the answer we were looking for, but at least we can move forward now.

We were hoping to burn this pile of brush, but it was just too wet.

June Update

Wow, it's been a really, really long time since I've updated! So, here we go... We've got the primer and self leveler on the gym...
